"Most of our problems are created by us not being very nice to ourselves"...
Who I am and what I stand for
I am a coach specialising in self compassion as an antidote to diet culture. My work supports you to step away from cycles of restriction, confusing diet rules, self-criticism and the constant pressure to change your body.
And instead, coach you to develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Many of us have learned to push ourselves through criticism, believing we will be happier when we are thinner, have reached the “ideal” number on the scales or dress size. I offer a different approach, helping you reconnect with your worth and move towards a more sustainable sense of wellbeing.
I combine neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), positive psychology, mindful self-compassion, and coaching to help you reconnect with your worth, improve your health and wellbeing; and discover how to nourish yourself with kindness.
My passion has always been about enabling people to live happier and healthier lives. Life is short, and what matters most is not perfection, but the moments of love, connection, laughter, fulfilment and purpose we experience along the way.

“I was able to question many of my thoughts and beliefs and have since developed a stronger me – all the while showing compassion and kindness to myself”
Amrit K Theochacourus
Why Self-Compassion?
Having worked with hundreds of clients over the years, I’ve come to realise that many of our struggles begin with how we speak to ourselves. We criticise, judge and dismiss our own needs in ways we would never dream of doing with someone we care about.
Whatever change you are exploring – around food, your body, your work or your relationships – my mission is that you leave our work together being kinder to yourself. When your inner voice softens, stress reduces, your nervous system can settle, and you feel calmer, clearer and far more able to move towards the goals that matter to you.
To support you with this, I draw on a unique blend of approaches:
- Coaching – to help you clarify what you want and create realistic, compassionate steps forward
- NLP Practitoner – to gently shift unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving
- Positive Psychology – to build on your strengths and what is already working
- Self-Compassion – to help you relate to yourself with warmth rather than criticism
- Shame Resilience and the Practice of Hope – to move from “there’s something wrong with me” towards a grounded sense that change is possible
Freedom
If this all sounds a little serious its because I do take the business of ensuring you create the changes you desire very seriously.
However, as my many happy clients will testify, working with me is also full of laughter, maybe some tears and ultimately the wonderful feeling of freedom.
Freedom that comes when you let go of what you no longer need, and forget to remember what may have been getting in the way of you moving forward, letting you enjoy your happiest life.
I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we can work together, until then, be kind to yourself.
Helen
